Little Great Rose

“Dedicated to that special person, who day by day shreds the walls of my routine down to pieces.”


I met her then, only by glance
Her face embellished with a smile
And I could tell that not by chance
She’d have me dazzled for a while.

Despite her charm, beauty and grace
For the most part she strikes as shy
She won’t believe her rosy face
Propels my sorrows to good-bye.

Most precious bloom within the garden
Her features shade me from the rest
And still she carries such a burden
Her self-critique, the eternal guest.

Little great rose you are not unfit
Nor you are meant for ordinary
When tribulation tries to hit
Wear out your thorns if necessary.

I will be there to care for you
Your glossy petals I’ll caress
Strength I’ll pump in you like fuel
I’ll give you shelter in excess.

The getting closer feels like trap
And to this point I just don’t mind
You have my head racing a lap
That only ends if once you’re mine.

And if I dare to say it straight
The simple thought just tastes like glory
One night to make your whole vibrate
And wrap in flames our little story.

I know you are consumed by doubt
And we’re not meant to blend our souls
But for a moment we reached out
And left our hunger rock and roll.

That night replays time and again
We were so close and yet so far
We sent our shame out on a train
But you refused to reach the stars.

Your silky hair, your sizzling lips
The backseat forcing my desire
My arm around your restless hips
Still you could put down the fire.

Little Great rose, you’re meant to fool
There’s so much in you to live through
And now my heart is set to cool
Enacting dreams that my crave drew.

The mirror you should get to know
I love your perfect imperfection
Admit your greatness, take it slow
And here embrace all my affection.

I remain stuck to my left corner
Our bond now stronger has matured
Like this I love it over former
Your candid scent has got me lured.

Share your unease from deep inside
Little great rose open and blossom
Now you may run but you can’t hide
For you and I, equal to awesome.
