Snow Summers

Snow Summers Poems

People like us project thoughts,
in words we should swallow.
Liars like us promise all, but
our vows are still hollow.
...

The sprawling miles of time
brushing past in hindsight
are pulling me back and
weighing down on me tonight
...

An abyss of lifeless hair
cascades down my bended back
Too tired to fight the tears
And so my resolves going slack
...

We attempt to collate,
distant faces and places
so our vacuous hearts
can refill the spaces
...

The paintings and pictures, exhibiting features
straying so far from familiar creatures
Da Vinci’s depicts a figure through poses
lashes and gashes, with freckles and noses
...

Let it echo through, toll the knell
That the girl next door, is far from well
A darker force has long compelled
Vows she'll drive them off to hell
...

People like us project thoughts,
in words we should swallow.
Liars like us promise all, but
our vows are still hollow.
And I know trust never comes,
but I beg you to try.
As I look in your eyes,
put faith in my white lie.

But I swear this one’s true,
won’t return to revoke it.
This truth is set in stone,
before I ever spoke it.
See, I’m setting you free,
from my peculiar obsession.
I’ve kept buried so long,
but its pushed for confession.

I swear every one of your flaws,
is sprawled out before me.
And I never thought that your kiss
could ever restore me.
What I’m trying to say,
is my eyesight is fine.
I’ve always seen, you’ve never
been mine.

I never knew why,
I wanted your soul.
It wasn’t sweet company,
but something to control.
And we don’t long to destroy,
the ones we adore.
I wanted you for the keeping,
at the price of war.
