Being Alive Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Being Alive

Unconsciously breathing the essence of life
Memories are etched with an indelible knife
Moments accumulate creating your being
Shaping you into the person you are seeing

Use understanding to measure and calibrate
Life is a wonderful gift we should all celebrate
Evaluation will guide your ultimate decisions
Even with unforeseen changes and revisions

With each glance and each warm touch
You have witnessed and grasped so much
Gaining vast experiences with your senses
Listen to children playing beyond the fences

Now, it is your turn to steer and guide…
Influencing a youthful mind as you confide
Awareness is revealed with each tidbit
Something you say may be of benefit

It is an opportunity to reflect and proceed
Time seems to be passing with rapid speed
Each minute is unspoiled and extraordinary…
Guide and share now; your visit is temporary

'Listen to children playing beyond the fences.' Fascinating. A whole world to explore. Wish you could tell me what memories you have for this.
