Cindy Poem by Franklin Spriggs

Cindy

A sweet little girl I seen,
At a park one beautiful day,
Just like any other child,
Running about at play.

I noticed something different,
Her mouth was always closed,
Things were not as normal,
As what I had supposed.

I asked her mother about it,
I see it troubled her a lot,
Cindy lives in a quiet world,
In silence with her thoughts.

Cindy came into this world,
A quiet baby from the start,
I've never heard her speak a word,
Yet she talks from her heart.

When Cindy is excited,
She claps her hands real loud,
But if she gets lonely,
She stays away from the crowd.

When she is feeling loving,
Her tender hands caress my face,
Or if a little prissy,
She enjoys her satin and lace.

I see her on her knees at night,
Offering a prayer with a little sigh,
I'm sure God is speaking to her,
From the tears within her eyes.

Cindy is a normal child,
Her words is what she seeks,
I pray that the day will come,
When I hear my Cindy speak.
