Don'T Look Back Poem by Dennisa Davidson

Don'T Look Back

The Candle of Hope flickered
But now it’s gone
Don’t look back, don’t look back
Light another Candle
Hope will linger on
You just got to keep going on
Don’t look back, don’t look back

You burnt your soul
And escaped hell
There’s no reason now
For there to dwell
Don’t look back
Just don’t look back

Rest your heart in a little shade
For a moment pause
But you don’t need to stop
Lie your aching bones upon the glade
Tell your broken heart
You are a star

Alight from here, take your light
Pain is the oil that makes it glow bright
Get back on the Road, join the Race
Take a little help from the Amazing Grace.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I love a melody like this, that recalls me of something Southern, nostalgic but so natural!
