Driving Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Driving

The miles I drive, the thoughts I have,
While going from here to there,
I put into poems all the time,
Whilst of others, I must take care.

I often stop in Parking Bays
Along the roads on which I travel,
To put down words of poems I write,
Lest the words in my mind do ravel.

Why must these words come to the fore
When I least expect them to?
As thoughts on diverse subjects
Go into verses with rhymes too.

Be the journey short or be it long,
The poetic words unravel,
And I must stop to write them down,
Lest they are lost to become a babble.

Be careful when you drive along
If verses come to you,
Pull-in and write them down again,
Lest your carelessness does kill you.
