Eclipse Poem by Lindsay King

Eclipse

Rating: 5.0

...Then I’ll say one thing
When I mean another
Like in the sky I won’t be found
I’d prefer to be on the ground
And be in the great race
Of the never was and the couldn’t, well…
I’ll find bliss in the small things
And sweat the big ones
I’ll pretend to be poetic
When I’m really just rambling
Then I could go and sing
These great songs to you
And suddenly you’d remember
That last September
When we first met
And oh—the joy!
Of meeting again
And you could tell me how
I’ll make you whole
And I can just say one thing
That comes to mind
But it’s blurred in the censorship
Of my beloved pride
