Even The Score Poem by Ra'Von Simone Crawford

Even The Score

I saw a picture of a barrel
Pointed directly at me
Without taking the time to know me first
It had already sealed my fate

A picture is worth a thousand words
But none were spoken then
It was just those painful seconds and me
Before my life would end

Amongst all this worldly stupidity
We must face something more
Like how much innocence does it take to bury
With people trying to even the score
