Find Your Way Back Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Find Your Way Back

They tried to mute me
They can not shoot me
And all around me,
So many is wounded
I'm rising, keep rising
I won't be afraid,
I won't be petrified
Can't let them think for me
I will decide
They hold my skin down
I uphold my crown
The heart is set by Ivory
But time belongs to Ebony
Lost one's drown in the enemy
His story ain't your history
It's all you're taught
It's all you've bought
where is the love?
If you can not find it
Find you way back
Where you have lost it
