Foolish Games Poem by Kelsey Bachmeier

Foolish Games

And at the lake this was my test
there was a party, a drunken fest
please forgive me this was my best
now the waters where i rest

I know my move was bold
but now I feel so cold
with this my legs begin to fold
'Stand Up' is what I'm told

'You want to be one of us'
after this they start to cuss

my feet are sinking in the mud
then my hands they leak my blood

I can hear their mocking now
and all my mind can think is how
then i feel my body bow

no more people yelling 'stand'
not one cell-phone in their hand
no ones feet are in the sand
not even music of their band

and as my body sinks
i bet all they do is think
hoping theres no link

then to think i called them my friends
sure this proves how personalities can bend
after this i will not mend
