Forever One Poem by Midifo Yearns

Forever One

The deed was done, the barrier crossed
the silent echo broke the frost
of inner fear, uncertain strain
in gentleness that conquered pain.

“O Yes” you sighed, “Amen” said I
and in a flash that lingered...
we looked as one into the heart of time
and claimed it each, O yes it’s mine.

Thank God, we said, though no one heard
and in a silence that endured, there came a cry
of love and life, of sad refrain
a tear expressed the mix-ed pain

confused and yet so very clear
the birth of dreams, so deep, so dear
to leave behind and not pursue
come home and know that you are you

loved as such and even more
accompanied through every door
until this life to end shall come
and we forever will be one.
