Girl Poem by Dan Brown

Girl

She is a giant among men,
as she walks alone down the street.
Heavy hair hangs like drapes; concealing her Ugliness.
The chattering of gunfire echoes round her head,
murdering the spark in her eyes.
Slow, deliberate footsteps going in the wrong direction,
but I follow her anyway, and appreciate the ornamental daggers in her
Back. She speaks carefully, like she is unsure of her words, and
hangs her head to hide her Horror.
My love for her stands tethered -
a little girl’s pony waiting for attention.
But still it remains, as it will all my Life.
For I love this Girl like I love my Wife.
