Hey God! Poem by Marilyn Lott

I was bogged down with problems
Alone was what I seemed to be
But as I was feeling abandoned one day
Suddenly a thought came right to me

I wasn’t alone at all, you see
For God would always be there
My eyes opened up wide right then
It’s a thought I would like to share

He created us in the first place
And if He went to all this work
Why wouldn’t he stew and worry
His responsibilities He wouldn’t shirk

I’m sure He’d want us to tell Him
If something was on our minds
So why not take time out
A connection to Him we can find

It can be in any place at all
Or any time day and night
I’m sure He’s not particular
Even though He’s out of sight

So if you need to talk to Him
On any place or sod
Why not just speak up right then
And say to Him, “Hey, God! ”
