I Beg Of You Poem by Lora Colon

I Beg Of You

Rating: 4.8

Long ago, pride was abandoned,
A beggar I was from the start;
A drop of love, a flake of romance
Will sustain this starving heart

A flake of romance brings a blush
To the face of this wilting rose;
Praise my beauty, or write me a poem.....
Ah, well, you know how that goes

For God's sake, show a little pity,
You can just pretend you care;
Just a drop of love is all I ask,
Have you not a drop to spare?

I'll stand beneath your window,
I'll wait in your musty hall,
I'll even lay beneath your table
And catch the crumbs that fall

Long ago, pride was abandoned,
A poor beggar I became;
I never was any good at love,
I have only myself to blame

'I never was any good at love, I have only myself to blame ' No, your writings never say that. Your heart is full of love, anyone who reads your poem is overwhelmed with love and compassion.

What a sad poem. I hope it is pure fiction.
