I Can’t Forget Poem by Michael P. Johnson

I Can’t Forget

I can’t forget He died for me
I can’t forget He lives
I can’t forget on bended knee
The way He loves and gives

I can’t forget He’s ever there
When quiet in my room
I can’t forget when in despair
He’ll vanquish tears of gloom

I can’t forget the little things
The miracles He’s done
The feeling that the presence brings
Of Jesus Christ His Son

Imagining my life before
Remembering the tears
I can’t forget forever more
The love that took my fears

I can’t forget the crown of thorn
The holes in hands and feet
The privilege to be reborn
And join my God’s elite

Should I not praise Him all my days?
Should I to Him not pray?
Seek to alter my evil ways
And serve Him while I may

I can’t forget the day He came
The day I saw The Light
Bringing me peace taking may shame
Ending my wayward flight

With Heaven’s silver gold and jewels
World treasures I afford
I can’t behave like blinded fools
I can’t forget my Lord
