I Don'T Know Poem by Simon Odhiambo

I Don'T Know

Questions are asked and questions answered
But there is this one question
that bothers me every day

In the morning I ponder
about this one question
It is not a difficult one, it should be simple
Every time I think and feel I have the answer

The afternoon comes, the question still lingers
I strongly feel it is not a difficult one
This one question, bothers me daily
No answer so far, Yet simple it seems

Evening creeps in un-noticed and I sigh
Maybe darkness will come with an answer
The answer to this simple question
That bothers me day in, day out

I fall asleep, with the question blinking in my mind
Maybe...yes maybe, the answer is in my dream
but I dream not tonight, for there is no sleep in my eyes
As I think about this one question

What is this question?
And the answer?

That is not the question, It still remains:

Unasked
Unanswered

This question is the answer to my question
And it still bothers me

compelling and mysterious. A conundrum hanging in the air like the dust of an explosion. Bravo!
