Jack Of Hearts Poem by Vaida Marea

Jack Of Hearts

You remind me of a city
Underneath the gritty surface is a heart so wild and alive
It gives me chills
And though I've cultivated my innocence for eighteen years
I give it up in a matter of minutes
To feel the pulse of it inside me
Restless
Frantic
Unending
But like a city you're not always the safest place for me to lay my head.
Still I can't help seeing the best in you
Your love's like Central Park at night
