Joy Poem by Modupeola Williams

My cheeks hurt from smiling
My voice is hoarse from laughter
My arms wish to hug every passer by

My heart is full
My cup overflowing
Light shines through from the browns of my eye

My body wants to jump up!
Dance!
Perhapse fly
Do something!
To release this feeling from inside

To let it flow out like a spring
seeping into everyone
lighting up everything

God I am not deserving of such a feeling as this
but I thank you anyway
for showing me true bliss
