Julia Poem by Addy Adenawo

Julia

There's goodness in everyone
Waiting for a chance to break forth
Lurking, lonely in the darkest part of the most heartless villain
Waiting for a light to set it free through the eyes of baby Julia

Her eyes like twin suns in the boldest bluest sky
A smile as darts piercing and swelling a mother's pride
Skin as soft as clouds
A joy the world has found

With hair like a full bloomed tree
She brings hope to all humanity
Hope that there's still room for salvation
A reminder that love is a rock-solid foundation

A sense that the gap between man and animal is, like the oceans, far and wide
That a heart made of stone could melt at the purity of Julia's smile
Her boundless courage as she takes sure wobbly steps on unsteady feet
Guileless and trusting with outstretched arms as she achieves her feat

Bask in her bounteous free spirit
Get entangled in the web of her fearlessness every minute
Breath in the heady scent of childhood innocence
Relive your childhood through Julia's eyes and reminisce
