Let's Get Married! Poem by Monica Melissano

Let's Get Married!

Rating: 4.0

What a joke!
You simply said 'yes! '
and it meant so much to me

Let's figure out ourselves
cleaning dishes at night
then falling asleep
in front of silly Tv shows
Growing older in our Ikea home
with our two cats.

Oh, what a joke!
You smiled and said 'yes! '
but did you really imagine
being by my side
'till we die?

And we could have a daughter
maybe we'll call her Elisa
You will cook giant cakes for her
for sunday's breakfasts
and birthday's parties

Dear, what a joke!

Waking up every morning
close to sunrays in your eyes
kissing you when you're back at home
in the evening

But you assumed it was a joke
you said 'yes! ' but
you didn't really care about
how much I would love you.
