Maggie May Poem by Francis Duggan

Maggie May

Her rather sly smile her real self betray
The ruler in her home ageing Maggie May
Six times a grandmother with her husband Ed
The ruler of her home by herhe is led
Thirty years ago she was the pride of the town
Her natural greying hair cloaked in dye of light brown
She has put on some weight the years on her does show
Time ages the finest as everyone know
Her husband Ed a gentle and timid sort of male
He has never smoked or drank alcohol not even a light ale
In their home she is one who has the final say
He is one of those rare males who was born to obey
Appearance can deceive just take Maggie May
Her sly public smile her true self does betray.
