Maybe Tomorrow Poem by Ernestine Northover

Maybe Tomorrow

Rating: 5.0

She had to give her child away,
Only she, knew the circumstances,
Her heart, turning into clay,
As every new day advances.
The hurt becoming so acute,
How could she live this way,
Guilt was gradually taking root,
And nothing one could say,
Would take away the sorrow,
Would take away the pain,
Of wishing that maybe tomorrow,
She could hold her child again.

You've captured the incomprehensibility of this situation well, Ernestine. I can not even imagine. Nice one.

Many think they know a situation best, but then, many have not been there! To truely know, sometimes we have to go through such a thing, only then are we quiet enough to listen, only then do we know of the conditions set and the pain involved This poem is a reminder, sensitively put, we must look in the mirror and before asking what would we have done in the same situation, ask our-selves are we capable of such things We must try our best to understand, then we may get a closer look at what it all entails A great poem with a strong message Love Duncan X
