Melanie Poem by Richard Alin Martin

Melanie

Melanie

Somehow our minds
will always see,
The smiling face
Of Melanie,
The laughing eyes
That shone with care,
The dancing light
That sparkled there;
Like sunlight through
A gentle wind,
The warmth that seemed
To glow within,
Forever in our
hearts will stay,
With ev’ry single
Passing day…..
And as we face
The here and now,
With heavy hearts
We make this vow,
No matter what
May come to be,
We’ll all remember
Melanie!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This Poem was written after the murder of a wonderful young woman named Melanie Carpenter, whose smile and beauty lit up the day. It was a very tragic tale, and one could only try to remember her in whatever small fashion one could muster. I hope this Poem has helped.
