Midnight Blues Poem by Valerie Anderson

Midnight Blues

Rating: 4.6

Midnight Blue,
deep black pitch.
The moon,
the stars
shimmering
and blinking.

I was waiting for you,
you left me behind.
But yet,
I don't sit
and cry
scowl
or
whine.

Although I feel abandoned,
and quite alone.
I will wait for you forever, even if,
I don't ever return home.

Midnight blue,
hold me close.
Please, don't leave me here!
Not when, I need you most.

I am not all alone, though.
I have the whispering wind.
Whispering soft in my ear.
And my warm comfortable
jacket that I hold, so dear.

You left me alone,
up in this place.
Nothing holding me,
but deep, deep space.

Midnight blue,
your my only friend.
Midnight blue
just stay here with me
and friendship to me
do you lend.

Almost a romantic loneliness to this one.

What or who is a greater friend than self?
