Motherless Child Poem by RaShawn Ince

Motherless Child

Sometimes I feel like a motherless child.
Alone and upset in a world so wild.
Confused and afraid of the beings of the night.
But I have no one here that is by my side.
So I walk on this road that has no end.
All alone in the dark not a chance, not a friend.
So I cry and I cry dripping tears from my cheaks.
Because a boy without strength is oh so weak.
A motherless child is alll I can be.
Until I realize that the strength is in me.
I have hope, I have faith, I have soul, I have heart.
And the light inside me brightens all of the dark.
So I lift my head high with a sight so brand new.
Out of the dark came a man, oh all the things he could do.
From the heart of a boy comes the strength of a man.
And he gives it all, gives it all that he can.
He was blind but now has the strength to see.
From a motherless child to a powerful dream.
