My Memoirs Poem by Sadiqullah Khan

My Memoirs

The sense of loss
Amidst many gains
In never ending struggle
To survive without living
With no watch to wear
For fear of the ticking time
Mornings and evenings
In the midst I stand
In search of my lost years
Like seconds they have vanished
In space and in time
Like midlife crisis
No way back
Nothing in the future
When I looked at the watch
Many times it had completed
Its cycle
Without my knowledge
Lately I thought to write
My memoirs
Of an ordinary life
And I am hit with amnesia
And gripping pain
In my chest
