Neon Poem by Pete Rivera

Neon

Guns go off
And I'm smiling
Each time I hear a richochet
And life's secrets
Kept me runnin about

And places changing
Making my mind
Spin round and round
Life making
Making my soul go out

And it's gone
The thrill of bein here too long
Cuz each time
Is a matter of fact
That I've been blind so long

The fire is burnin
Helicopters racin
Neon moon
Tryin to get by
Much too soon

And I can't help but feel
That once the thrill is gone
I've been blind for so long
Oh, blindin me for so long
Voices are ringin
People tell me
They know where I am
But all I can say
Oh, they're so very wrong

And it's gone
The thrill of bein here too long
Cuz each time
Is a matter of fact
That I've been blind so long

People breathin
Don't know what it's like
To live and breathe
Don't know what it's like
Can't believe my eyes
I have been blind to the truth

Oh, I have been blind to the truth
