New Beginning Poem by Robert William Schmitz

New Beginning

Lately I have been so tired;
The road closed from my head to my hand
The construction here is all too much;
I'll make a detour upon this land
New inspiration like unbeaten paths
Is where I'll lay this ink
You come along, inflate these tires
So I may push and think
The roads have always been so bumpy,
But friends and family have always been there
New road I lay is perfect and even,
No curves, no bumps something to believe in
A warm feeling irradiates off the fresh black top.
No need to stop, with no need to rest
This road will take me to the best.
Yet there may be intersections to deceive me,
But you are there to retrieve me
So you take me hand the sun sets bright
Radiant orange we disappear into the night.
