On My Own Poem by Conúil Duffy

On My Own

I was so happy that i soared.
I flew up and was on top of the world.
I was right up there on my own.
I flew up. I was on top of the world.

I had flown up much too quickly
and I had made my own girl feel sickly.
I was up their on my own.
I was a sad man on top of the world.

From there I saw beautiful things.
I saw things that could drive a man insane.
I was right up their on my own.
There should have been someone up their with me.

I was right up their on my own.
