Once Upon A Time Poem by Susan Davis

Once Upon A Time

Rating: 4.0

Patchouli and rose oil
Lyrical poetry to touch the soul
First kisses
Lost in the thought of you
Burning candles
Incense lit to ward off the demons
Roses, butterflies, miniscule mushrooms
Soft-spoken words
Feeling myself swoon
Look at me and see nothing else
This level of love
Can never be felt
Tripped up by a kiss
Melt my inhibitions
Do you really think they will be missed?
You were my reason to live
I would die when you smiled for me
The memory brings a tear to my eye
As I ponder what could have been
Once upon a time.
