Open Arms Poem by Dan Ochs

Open Arms

Eyes shine bright as candlelight
when love gives sight to life
my dear

The twinkling stars
A night held in your arms
And the time we laughed
right here

To feel your sweet breath, so close to my chest
my heart keeps beating the rhythm of drum
Alone you and I, our souls reunite
our hearts beating the rhythm of one

And what do I say
again and again this day?
This prayer, a prayer, I pray

Because you're up above
You've risen my love
Again I will hold you someday
