Reckless Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Reckless

Something said,
Was misunderstood.
A relationship gone!
Neither could...
Bring their lips to say,
'It's okay.
I didn't mean it that way.'
It was too late...
To save what was great!
Reckless was the fate,
That awaited.

Something done,
To the other one was fun.
As one was stunned...
And began to run away,
Not looking back.
And the laughing one thought this an act.
It was in fact...
The last to come of that.
And the reckless one stood shunned!
Unbelieving the Sun
Would ever set upon them,
Fading shadows.
