Right Here Waiting Poem by Jessica Elizondo

Right Here Waiting

The rain was beating down so hard and the car was sliding all over the road like as if on ice.

I should have stopped at that inn a mile back, but i wanted to see you on Christmas, I was gonna suprise you and the kids.

It was in an instant, it came out of no where and there was a flash and the next thing I know I laying on the ground. And the person in the othe car is screaming in agony but i can't find the words to speak.

I can feel my last breath escape me and all I can think about is how I never said I love you one last time. Or that one last kiss. That one last embrace of your warmth.

I'm sorry babe, my love. If only I had paid more attention, or stopped at that inn. My love I'm sorry, please forgive me. And please remember that I'm always there right next to you.

Please my love shed no tears, and dream no fears, because no matter how long it takes, I'll always be right here waiting for you.
