Soda-Jerk Poem by Dean Meredith

Soda-Jerk

He admired her flimsy defence
Thought it courageous
No text books here!

She had foreseen this
Three moves ago
I kid you not

She smiled outrageously
Threw out all his game plans
Just like that

He admired her complete attack
How would I handle it?
How will she handle me?

I don't know what's happening
She's on & off & off & on
I'm not taking it terribly well

All these blind pouncing moves
Drawing up her own stories
Them at the centre

She's still appealing, I was wondering
Down my haunted hallways
Down my prism desires

They leave their lovely marks, right on you
You're a happy jerk, any love at all
Sideways as you like it or good old smooth & free
