The Crowd Poem by dan wittenkeller

The Crowd

My heart falls under my un-beating chest
No signs of breath, vacant procedures
Your face
Stands in the mirror of my mistakes
In the lies of my misconceptions
Im blind to your figure
The crowd stands in the way

Crowded by these pages of lies
Humbled for the next feeling I can feel
Wishing on a star that was never shown to mankind
I cry the nile in my eyes for the next triumph among these heartaches
That seem to build everytime another second is ticked
The puzzle that doesn’t seem to fit
The crowd that took your place

I was never distracted by the crowd
Never brought to life by lifeless sound
Never lived a life I never sung to the pages I verse
Never thinking when it comes to the curse
That lives over my head
No answer lives in my crawling body
But the crowd, destroys it all
Destroys us,
Society causes our faults
discontinues our leaps and bounds
falters us with its taunts and chants
to live free to live within these
pages of broken records
that never made it past the inspection
Love reaches past the crowd
Even if Im deaf to the sound
Even when we don’t feel so inferior
The feel, can leap over society's barrier
