The Journey's Just Begun Poem by Stephen James

The Journey's Just Begun

it's in my hands
i can bend and shape it

through force of will
manipulate it

through breath of life
i manifest it

master techniques
through acts of patience

each page represents
mental exorcism

reshaping the minds
of the mad possessed

press the kill switch
then let the weak digress

in the ignorance of
their own shattered mess

the excuse they call a life
is trife

i've been lied to not once
but too many times

i can't find the time
to put trust in mankind

when freedom is found
when one with the mind

have faith in the soul
determined to grow

through the things that this life
has never been shown

and never expected
while always neglected

the meek will inherit
the crowns of gold

not bought and sold
this isnt for trade

never will i give in
to this price of pain

as for me and my house
we'll live without shame

this love represents
those who feel the same

it's a bond that links
and connects us

through like-minded
verses spoken

through the stress
and all the commotion

we speak peace
to mend a heart broken

praying that
this pain subsides

with every bar
and note for note

and line for line
the time has come

to be the one
to resurrect hope

because when
it's all said and done

i'm going
to be the one

that will rise in the morning
elevate with the sun

and bask in its rays
illuminate the day

the journey's just begun
