What You Own Poem by Randy McClave

What You Own

You own scissors and knives to cut
And you own a wrench to tighten a nut,
You own a pencil and or a pen to write
And you own a lamp to give out light.
You have many books and magazines to look at and read
You own a Bible so Christ's words you would heed,
And you own a hammer to drive in and pull out nails
To check your weight, so you own scales.
You own a screwdriver to tighten or loosen a screw
And to fastens things together you own tape and glue,
To eat dinner you own a knife and fork and spoon
And you own a radio to play a happy tune.
You own a broom and mop to sweep or mop up your mess
And you own an iron to iron pants or a dress,
You own paint and brushes for a painting
And you own prescribed medicine for a sometimes fainting.
You own a printer to print out a letter
And you own glasses to help you see much better,
To fish you own a fishing rod and a fishing reel
And you own a gun……… to kill.
