broken body
born at birth
twisted spines
drawn up limbs
but hungered
for a thirst

on the patio terrace
overlooking the salty gulf
we shared fine food

it’s dark

you said to yourself
I'm not going to go
no one will I know
no one will know me
to many years have gone by

it’s sleep i crave
so that i might
dream of you
for only during the night

you would think that time
eliminates all pain
but it seems the heart

i’m livin' in a world
where everything's strange
when did it happen,

Speedy Hartman Biography

Hi everyone, I'm new to Poemhunter but slowly learning my way around. I'm also new to writing poetry, short stories, you name it.. now I find a day doesn't go by without writing something. What’s Popular The title makes the poem… Popular While traveling down the poets path I find myself stopping To Look at To read To rate To comment On the title’s that grabs my attention This is like judging a book by it’s cover As we all know The jacket has not to do with the contents I look at so many poems And wish I could read em all But I’m old and my life is short So I will concentrate On the title’s that grabs my attention)

Classmates…

By; John “ Speedy “ Hartman

You asked me
if we ever knew each other,
in a time so long ago….

You asked me
if we were friends in school,
when we walked the halls….

Then you asked me
why it was,
that we never met….

I sadly tell you now
it was the separate paths we took,
that kept us from being friends….

For you were the popular one
and I,
I was -

Invisible…..
