Haven’t seen you for a while,
Have missed your cheeky little smile
Your voice so far, seems so very near

I Know You

I heard a voice...
'I know you', I said
But he hid as I called out loud
'I like being safe, although I'm giving away,
what I want, by being far'
He said this in a sombre voice
and I took a quick step back.
yet as I walked away that day
I kept on turning back.

The years went by
and then I heard his voice
after a decade had passed
he wrote with another name
playing a different game
But did it change the depth of his heart?

The one who hears with the ears of the soul
will know with eyes still closed
for the rain and the pain that melted the heart
a saga of long ago.
