Flowers In The Attic (Inspired By V.C. Andrews'novel)

You threw us in the prison of your heart
aborted us from the realms of your mind
turning the key, you left us behind

We lived in a world made of dust
only dreams kept us alive
While my siblings prayed in silence for your arrival
I danced until my body fell apart
I wished for your embrace, for the softness of your hand
I wanted to be yours once again

But the few times you unlocked the door
and came into the room
was to shower us with sweets
and caress us with your lies
Then the Devil had a plan:
'poison our food to erase us from your past'
Oh mother I will never forgive you:
your beauty was only a mask
hiding your rotten heart

Two of us survived
sinning and sinking in forbidden passion
God looked away, repulsed by our acts
Hell became our only path

Your flowers in the attic turned into thorns
stinging and pricking your soul
As you growled in pain releasing us into the unknown
