    Yeah, I am in agreement with Swarnali and Elysabeth. T.S. Eliot SHOULD be ranked higher.

    I can't understand why he is ranked so low? ? He should be in the top 25 poets of all times and one of the best of the Modernists.

    Why is he ranked so low when he is most important poet of the modernist movement?

    Interesting...Ezra Pound was his mentor and friend and started him on the path to notoriety, yet Pound is listed before T.S.Eliot. Whereas Bukowski was a drunk, barroom fighter, and, generally the person you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley, Bukowski is listed before Eliot. Did the world's I.Q. happen to change in the past 50 years, or are readers missing something BIG about Eliot?

    If you want to be a GOOD poet...STUDY T.S.Eliot, don't just read his works and THINK you know what he meant in his poetry! ! ! ! !

    I've written parodies of Bukowski and they have been published by the very publishers who applaud him. What's wrong with this picture?

Preludes

The winter evening settles down
With smell of steaks in passageways.
Six o'clock.
The burnt-out ends of smoky days.
And now a gusty shower wraps
The grimy scraps
Of withered leaves about your feet
And newspapers from vacant lots;
The showers beat
