Uncurling from a deep sleep
Stretching its petals all dipped with dew
The flower awakens, bursting into life

The harsh wind ripped at his face,
Bringing hot tears to his eyes
The suns blazing heat blistered his skin
A silent scream escaped his dry lips

I feel pain from the lashes life has dealt me
Hate an endless stain on my heart
Getting away from the screams in my head, I embrace the darkness letting it consume me
Pain a dagger right through my soul

Days are agony, nights are misery
Death knocks at my door
Crushed and shattered my heart is broken into a thousand pieces
I tell myself lies to ease the pain

The feel of rain drops dancing on my face
I hear the thunder rumbling in the distance
Looking up I see lightning flashes in the looming darkness
Wind howling, waves clashing

I wanted fame, power and riches but now that I have them… I realised I gave up the most important thing of all… my heart.
