TANIYA KUNDU Poems

Eons ago, I was alive,
Death, a mere change of being
Enmeshed in the bowels of earth,
Tempered by the fiery Earthy ring.
...

The cool wind blew around her deep, dark eyes,
Bringing with it, the scent of Autumn in the air,
Adorned with bewitched minds and quiet sighs,
The beauty of the Himalayas, seeking a maiden fair.

Time streams by
On the golden hour,
She muses on the
Darkness inside.
...

What strikes your
Iridescent soul
Wings of a foreign
Dream or the sea
...

I sat on the time-worned riverbanks at dusk,
As the mighty sun went down on another day.
The darkening blues settled softly into my mind,
As the warm starlight from eons ago bathed me.
...

Where art thou, my dear friend
A honeysweet dew to mine eyes,
The longing kiss to the neverland,
A tender touch to my tired mind.

The Soil's Soliloquy

Eons ago, I was alive,
Death, a mere change of being
Enmeshed in the bowels of earth,
Tempered by the fiery Earthy ring.

Then pieces of my soul,
Broken over time and again
Rose to the surface,
Was rejuvenated by the rain.

The water ran through,
Quenching my thirst
Congealing the pieces of my soul,
Making soil from dust.

From the precious seeds of life,
I had nurtured within me
With the rain, tiny tendrils grew,
And bore a flower for the world to see.
