Trapped

The Sun can be described as many things.
Some people say she is a light of life.
Others declare she is a lonely wife,
but few know of the true meaning she brings.
A small girl reaches for the Sun and clings.
Her dazzling light resembles a knife,
Cutting through open blinds with hasty strife.
The rays of sunshine reach the angels' wings.
This creature remains up there all alone.
Her lover only appears in the night.
The small girl is forever trapped inside,
but maybe if the little girl had known
she'd escape with the Sun's lover in sight.
'You'll ne'er get out alive, ' the Sun replied.
