Toni Rumbel Poems

Twenty years of hatred
Blazes in his eyes
He looks at the man kneeling
Before him and smiles
...

I love the music playing in the ballroom
I dance alone, waiting for my boy
He sits alone, forced to listen, it's his doom
Feel so bad, he acting like my puppet, my toy
...

I hate to turn up on your doorstep in the middle of the night
But I've just walked through a tunnel and found the light
Love is a monster and hurts so much
I didn't want to remember, but couldn't forget such

Hatred

Twenty years of hatred
Blazes in his eyes
He looks at the man kneeling
Before him and smiles

He raises his sword
Vengeance is a monster
The monster within him smiles
Victorious as he brings it down

Screams pierce the cold night air
The sword swishes down
It slices through its victim's wrist
Severing bone and veins

More screams rip through the night
As he raises his sword once more
The monster eggs him on
Craving for more blood

Vengeance is so gratifying
Even if it means taking a life
He brings the sword down
But halfway there, he stops

He looks into those youthful eyes
And sees himself staring back
He lowers is sword a little
And places the blade onto the young man's throat

He watches the man before him
Trembling in terror
He looks into those bright blue eyes once more
And sees them beg for mercy

He ignores the plead and looks at the face
The monster applauds him once more
Obeying the monster, nothing else matters
The man before him deserves to die
