Dream

I dreamt of a poem yesterday,
On the couch.
I think it was about life, or maybe death
I know it was something profound.
I think.

As I was coming out of the dream I realized,
That I would never remember the point I was making.
I remember thinking, what a shame, to not have a journal,
Or a typewriter, or a computer to record this thought.

It seems like a distant memory to me now.
Like a cousin you played with as a child,
That you now pass with a nod in the grocery store.
