That is so foreign to mankind.
It affects the physical body
As well the spirit and the mind.

Suicide—just a grim reminder
Of how unhappy a soul could be
That one would choose death over life
In desperation to be free.

Ever universal in its scope
It touches here and touches there.
It gives pure joy and inspires hope
In the countless hearts everywhere.

Dear Father, bless the sick today
Who cannot go about their way
With stride to do that which they should
For, simply, they no longer could.

Perhaps you’ve heard it many times.
But know that it is really true.
Preparation’s half the battle—
Making the job simpler for you.
