Bound, Yet Free

Strong,
steadfast,
sturdy and controlled.

Kinetic,
fluid,
turbulent and uninhibited.

Will her motion change him?
Will she wear him down?
Softening his edges,
wave after wave,
unrelenting.

Will mettle alter her flow?
Will he change her direction?
Containing her surge,
stone upon stone,
stagnating.

In time,
changing their landscape.

Separately.

Together.

Completely free,
yet bound by love.

Utterly alone,
except for God.
