Every Minute Every Second Every Hour

When days have been numbered and my beats have retired
When my hair has all fallen and my demons have expired
I shall have triumphed and I shall have undone
The battles and the turmoil that will have been won

I hope to meet Gandhi and perhaps befriend King
Together we may cry as one we may pray and sing
They will give me strength to derive from with virtue, spirit and will
I shall work with endless desire and forever, admire their skill

And only the spirits will guide me for the days that remain now
Whether in minutes or years what Mother Nature may ...

My telephone rang one fine spring day
I was certain that I heard my sister say
Your cousin Jim has just passed away
I hung my head in sorrow as if to pray

My heart bled for his delicate mother
And I agonized for his good brother
I felt profound sorrow for his sister
As I did listen to my heart whimper
