•Born in Simla in 1942 Early education from Auckland House School, Simla •Finished School from Girls’ High School, Faridabad •Graduation - (B.A.) from Isabella Thoburn College, Lucknow •Post Graduation (M.A.) Geography) from St. John's College, Agra. •Ikebana - Sogetsu School, New Delhi,1966-67-68. •Married to an IAF Fighter Pilot (1968 – 2011) •Correspondence Course in Homeopathy from Mavelil Homeo Mission, Trivandrum (1977-1979) .Practised for almost 20 years. •Being an accomplished seamstress used the skill for becoming a commercial dress-designer. Designed for almost all leading countries France, Germany, Japan, USA and Britain. •Visual impairment since 1988. Certified 85% since 2011 Has been using assistive technology to manage. •Creative Writing Course from IGNOU (1998) at age 59. •Started painting and writing at age 60. •Became a rare painter-poet. Displaying both arts, creatively connected •First Solo Exhibition of Paintings and Poems - May 2002 - Academy of Fine Art and Literature, New Delhi – highly appreciated by viewers and buyers. Second Solo Exhibition of Paintings and Poems - Feb 2004 at the India Habitat Centre was equally successful. •Indian Council for Cultural Relations, New Delhi – March 2004. Four paintings selected & exhibited along with works of other eminent Indian Women Artists to celebrate International Women's Day 2004. •Third Solo Exhibition and Book Launch - March 2007 inaugurated by the eminent Poet and Art critic, Mr. Keshav Malik The book ‘As the Soul Flies’ was published by Writers Workshop, Kolkatta. Exhibition Widely covered by the media. Laurels for your mother!
his mother! my mother!
his grandson's mother!
And me?

He Sun! She moon?
No! Blasphemy!
Lampoon myths -
blue-white, far off and cold!
Now just think a joyful red
to let show her warm sanguinity.

She's not just body and bust,
acknowledge the power
she holds within -
to engender, to breed,
to‘make a name live

not she from some spindly ribs.
